ABOUT

The Danube Transformation Agency for Agency (DTAFA) is an ecofeminist and socio-artistic organization that provides services and mediations between species. Employing hybrid practices between visual art, design and science the organization advocates for a livable Danubian future by enabling new imaginaries for the Danube's ecosystems.

Today, in times of global environmental devastation, it is important and inevitable to elevate artistic practices into tools for activism, empowerment and engagement. The Danube Transformation Agency for Agency (DTAFA) researches how the arts can address climate change and its effects on the river Danube. Working in close collaboration with scientists, conservationists, civil society, plants and animals, the DTAFA maps out various anticipated emergencies of the Danubian Biosphere. By developing a series of experimental interventions the agency aims to provide tools for socio-ecological innovation. The research turns to science, theory and technology, as well as to history and the role that the Danube had played for different cultures as a totemic, spiritual, military and ecological touchstone.
