The Danube Transformation Agency for Agency (DTAFA) is a transnational art and design collective dedicated to providing services and mediations between species. DTAFA’s (di:tafa) practices and projects address socio-political concerns from an ecofeminist perspective, aiming to explore more equitable ways of living together.
Whether through fish-friendly swimming courses or a trans-species partnership with a Chinese pond mussel, the agency employs experimental interventions as a method to develop tools for socio-ecological innovation and empowerment.
DTAFA is a collaborative venture between four artists coming from various countries and backgrounds. The collective was founded in 2021 during an INTRA project at the University of Applied Arts. The members are Solmaz Farhang, a visual artist who was born in Iran, studied and lived in Vienna and now lives in London. Alexandra Fruhstorfer, a designer and artistic researcher, living and working in Vienna. Ege Kökel, a designer and artistic researcher, who was born in Istanbul, studied in Vienna and lives and works in Eindhoven now. Lena Violetta Leitner, artistic researcher with digital arts background, living and working in Vienna.
